Raid Farms
Use /subchunk to easily tell whether you’re at the correct sub-chunk co-ordinates to start building your Raid Farm.
Raid Mechanics
Raid Farms are slightly modified on Vanilla X.
While Vanilla X is currently running on 1.21.11, the changes made to raid farms in 1.21 are not active, meaning ominous bottles do not drop from pillagers, and you do not need to drink an ominous bottle to start a raid, you only need to kill a pillager captain.
Additionally, a few changes are made to raids in order to improve player QoL:
Vexes are disabled
Ravagers are disabled
Witches do not drop potions
Pillagers have do not drop iron axes, crossbows, and banners
Armor stands do not tick, use minecarts instead
Totems do not burn in lava
You can see your sub-chunk with
/subchunkor in the F3 menu
Ianxofour’s Practical Stacking Raid Farm
YouTubeDesign Specifications
This stacking raid farm design is by far the simplest and quickest out there, and only needs one slight modification to work on Vanilla X. See below →
YouTubeNash’s Universal Raid Farm
When building this farm, do not use a Sculk Catalyst, just use a glass block.
This raid farm is more complex, but the rates far exceed ianxofour’s design.
Due to Ravagers being disabled, you do not need to build the nether portals or nether side.
Due to the lowered Villager limit on Vanilla X, you need to change the amounts of Villagers in each pod.
Bottom pod → 2 Villagers
Second pod → 3 Villagers
Third pod → 3 Villagers
Fourth pod → 3 Villagers
Top pod → 1 Villager
It is essential that you trade with the top most Villager, then de-optimize it.
The schematic for the farm can be found in the video description.
Broken Raid Farms
Below is a list of raid farms that are known to not work on Vanilla X for one reason or another, avoid building these.
YouTubeRaid Farm FAQ
Q: My Raid Farm isn’t working, how do I fix it?
A:
Check the following:
Make sure none of the villagers in your farms are nitwits.
Verify the farm is built at the sub-chunk coordinates specified in the relevant tutorial. (`/subchunk
Check that the farm is facing the correct direction shown in the tutorial.
Confirm the design is specifically intended for versions before 1.21.
Compare all redstone components with the tutorial to verify they are placed correctly.
Remove all temporary blocks once the farm is complete.
Use a sword without Knockback or Fire Aspect.
Check that all villagers are receiving a redstone signal.
Avoid using transparent blocks in place of solid blocks (glass, glowstone, sea lanterns, etc.).
Q: My villagers despawned, what happened?
A:
Your villagers did not despawn, they were likely hit by lightning and turned into witches which then despawned.
To avoid your villagers being struck by lightning, either ensure there is a roof over your villager pods, or use lightning rods to direct lightning away from your villagers.
Q: I built my farm at the wrong sub-chunk co-ordinates, how do I fix it?
A:
Unfortunately, there is no easy fix for this mistake, you must destroy the entire farm and start over.
