Glass Farm

What is a Glass Farm?

A glass farm is a villager trading based farm designed by @Dropjawed that utilities the Itemscroller mod to semi-automatically trade with Villagers.

The farm is possible with any trade where the ratio of emeralds given to items received is 1:2 or higher, for example, apples would be possible since the trade is one emerald for four apples. An example of a trade that wouldn’t work is experience bottles, since the ratio, when the villager is cured, is one emerald to experience bottle.

It is impossible to create a farm with these mechanics that automatically trades for experience bottles or any other item with a 1:1 trade ratio, do not waste your time.

Building Instructions & Tips

  • Align the farm into chunks using f3+g and moving the schematic so the red squares each fit into their own individual chunk. You do not need to build the red squares.

  • Ensure all crafters are configured correctly, either see the attached signs for their configuration, or check the screenshot attached.

  • The crafters need to be primed before they can begin to de-craft the emerald blocks. To do this, place 16 emeralds in each barrel below the crafters.

  • Ensure all hoppers/droppers that are labelled with signs have the correct amount of items in before use.

    • You may wish to place the signs with the correct item amounts so that in the event of a farm malfunction, you can easily check which part is broken.

  • Ensure the filter hoppers in the emerald block unloaders are configured before inputting emerald block shulkers.

Common Fixes

If you find your villagers aren’t being traded with properly, apply the following fixes:

  • Limit your FPS to anywhere from 30-90, you’ll need to mess around with this a little to find the optimal FPS for your PC as it’s different for everybody.

  • Lower your keyboard repeat rate in your keyboard properties to what is shown in the video. You will likely need to mess around with this too, since each situation is different.

  • Remove any other villager trading mods or mods that change the way Minecraft handles GUI’s.
